Members Reviews:
North or South --- no difference
This short story is gripping and historically accurate. I don't know if it's based on actual occurrences, but it is based on the reality of facing a war no matter if you're on the winning or loosing side. And the humans in it are just that--human, with memories, feelings, heart and blood. Brings tears to my eyes and a lump to my throat remembering the situation and interactions.
It's not in any way a Goth horror story about beings with long (literal) teeth who roam about on the full moon--it's instead a realistic picture of WAR as a bloodsucking horror, living always and only at the expense of human lives and never satisfied.
Not a bad short story. But, its not much of a vampire story
This short story is set in reconstruction era Virginia and is heavier on dialogue than the action that the opening sequence promises.
Its not a bad short story. But, its not much of a vampire story.
