Dan Barry paid his dues on his journey to becoming an acclaimed author and writer and columnist for The New York Times. There was a first job at a small paper in Connecticut where he covered the murder of one of his newspaper colleagues. There was a disastrous first job interview at the Times, having nothing to do with Dan or actually anyone at the Times either.  And there is the priceless story of Dan walking to a cancer procedure in the early 2000s, accompanied by his newspaper writing hero, Jimmy Breslin.  Enjoy part two of my conversation with Dan Barry.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.Learn more about your ad choices.
