I ask him about some of the earliest Dan Brodie singles ("I'm Floatin' Mamma," "Big Hearted Lovin' Man") - and what place they have in his current setlists. We also talk about his seminal release The Ballad of Cowboy Dan, what the epic title track means to him and how it helped inform the writing this new LP.

Dan also talks about the great response Suburban Dreaming has been receiving. He also mentioned the sound effects used on the album and how that is connected to his love of film.

"I think because of the sounds and stuff, that lends itself more to my love of film and cinema," he said. "I get drawn into scenes of movies and sound design. I love great sound design. I think that is in a way, as well, a template of what I wanted to do with this record."

One of my all-time favorites - Dan Guevara - is back on the show!

The Austin-based singer-songwriter checked in to talk about "Her Country Song," his latest duet with Morgan Obenhaus - as well as the forthcoming single, "Don't Make Sense."

"Her Country Song" was a step outside the box for Dan. While most of his catalog leans on an Americana/folk-based sound, Dan composed a more traditional county song after being inspired by his own boss' experience with loss. He later presented the song as a complete surprise to her. Tune in to hear this heartwarming story and also Dan's take on how we are united through the power of music.
