Danai spent several years as a Hollywood freelance entertainment reporter, producer, blogger and correspondent living and working out of Los Angeles. She started off at E! Entertainment Television as an associate producer in the Original Specials department. She then moved on to BET as a west coast producer of their Entertainment News Magazine show "The Black Carpet" for its duration.

During that time, Danai also produced multiple episodes of the behind-the-scenes making of the video program "Access Granted." Talent featured in her episodes include: Snoop Dogg, Neyo, Keyshia Cole, Jennifer Hudson, Robin Thicke, Mary J Blige and more.
