This episode is about memory (guiding light, stars, painted skies), grief (sun set before rising, fractured spirit) and reclamation (dawn, seeds of hope, finding God). The poem upon which this episode is based is an elegy of love that moves from remembrance → devastating loss → reconstruction. It is emotionally transparent and does not rely on ambiguity; In this case my memories of my mother are associated with illumination, guidance, beauty and finding a sanctuary – a safe place.
