When we commit to dedicate our lives to the glory of God, His favor will begin to rest upon us. Equally certain is the reality that the person whose life is set for the glory of God will experience some strong opposition from people. The life of worship is rich, vibrant, and often full of deep moves within our spirit. Yet, emotionalism is not the same thing as worship. God wants us to love and celebrate Him in spirit and truth. King David learned this the hard way. When God showed David a better way of hosting His presence, nothing could suppress his celebration. But even as David celebrated, one person did attempt to douse the fires of David’s worship. The example of David against this opposing voice helps empower us all to continue to worship and obey the King of Heaven with enthusiasm and rejoicing - no matter whose disapproval it might provoke.
