Danger AI ~ I Was Tricked
As you know two days ago, I sent out a “testimony” of Clint Eastwood. It was his face and actual voice. And what was said was so good and right on, that AI did not enter my mind and thought others should hear this. But immediately many were writing me back saying they thought it was AI generated. Wow is me! I made a mistake. But what was said was still good though evidently not what Eastwood ever said.
Now today it just dawned on me the danger of AI. Although AI can have a lot of potential good, it can also be used for a lot of potential bad. I was thinking about that regarding myself, or any other public person.
Over the years, being so public myself, attacking the very “gates of hell”, speaking to thousands of students on hundreds of campuses, reaching millions through my former television, radio and newspapers, I gained a lot of brothers and admirers and at the same time a lot of enemies. As Solomon said (Prov. 29:27):
“An unjust person is an abomination to the righteous, and one who is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.”
I thought of my slanders who have said and written outright lies about me over the years. Now they could really do damage with other AI generated persons lying about me or even with AI generating me in saying things I never would say! That was not a comforting thought. And I’m not sure how we’re going to be able to fight that, or anyone else.
The Apostle Paul said (2 Tim. 3:12):
“Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.”
If this was true before the AI world it certainly will be true today. But the Lord Jesus said this (Luke 6:22-23):
“What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man. When that happens, be happy! Yes, leap for joy! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, their ancestors treated the ancient prophets that same way.”
Well, at the end of the day everyone makes their own decision. They either live to be praised by others or to “live godly in Christ Jesus” - where they “will be persecuted” - but can “leap for joy” because their “great reward awaits” them in heaven.
