 In this episode, Ian and Jake discuss yesterday’s sermon from Daniel 3 and the call to trust God in your circumstances by trusting God beyond your circumstances. We unpack the main points from the sermon and go beyond yesterday with additional insight into the text.

Nebuchadnezzar crowns pluralism with a 90-foot idol, and three exiles refuse to bow. We unpack why biblical non-participation creates contrast (and conflict), how fear of God frees us from fear of fire, and where Daniel 3 points beyond moral heroism to Christ who walks with us in the flames.

  • Identify your “bow or burn” moments this week; name one arena where you must not participate.
  • Replace panic with a pattern: pray, then praise, before you act (Dan. 2:17–23 carries into ch. 3).
  • Teach “obedience over outcomes”: God is able, God will, but even if not… we obey.
  • Model costly holiness in small things first; big courage grows from daily refusals.
  • Reframe opposition: expect it (John 15), prepare for it (community + Scripture), and respond without resentment.
