Most know Daniel Defoe as the author of Robinson Crusoe.  However, most do not realize he was a Baptist.

His parents were devout Baptists and passed this knowledge down to young Daniel, but he never made a personal profession of his faith in Christ, until his later years.

If you read the book, Robinson Crusoe, Defoe gives his own testimony through the testimony of the character, Crusoe.
