Australian Stories of Healing Pain

Daniel Thompson - Ankylosing Spondylitis

Listen Later

Episode 1 of Australian Stories of Healing Pain introduces Daniel Thompson - the person I have created this podcast for and about. Daniel is a 32 year old father of 2. He is an electrician and loves to play football, cricket and golf. Daniel was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis in 2014. Following his diagnosis, Daniel was under the care of a rheumatologist but he did not feel supported. Some days left Daniel calling in sick to work and stuck in bed, unable to move. He is now taking a holistic approach to healing his pain. Daniel moves his body every day, trains for and plays football and participates in Pilates and exercise classes. He is interested in gut health and how this affects his symptoms. Daniel has not totally healed his pain but he is living with significantly reduced pain and does not need to take anti-inflammatories anymore. Listen to find out what lifestyle changes Daniel has implemented to reduce the pain and inflammation in his body.
