Born and raised in Texas, Danny Whitecotton has been playing his mix of indie rock and alt country to the coffee shop junkies and bar patrons of New York, Massachusetts and Vermont since his independently released first album "Go On and Rain" debuted in May. Writing songs about life, second-chances, ghosts, and murder-mysteries; Whitecotton has shown himself as a contemptuous, sorrowful, and talented songwriter that won't shy away from the darkness of the human struggle or the potential light in everyone.

Growing up in a musical family, Danny began learning the piano at age 8, but it wasn't until he picked up the guitar that music started becoming his own. While still taking lessons he would write songs and finally he formed the punk band "Blind" at age 16 with his cousin and two friends. Danny handled vocals, guitar, and would occasionally be found behind the drum set. After the band's tumultuous break up after only recording a few songs, Danny spent the next few years writing songs and going to school. After graduating from college in 2008 he dedicated himself to writing music and in 2009 relocated to upstate New York. Working out his songs in a river cottage along the Mohawk River, he recorded and released his first full length album "Go On and Rain". Since then he has been touring the northeast while writing and recording songs for his second album.
