Load-In Through The Back

Dar Williams

Listen Later

This episode features a conversation with author, advocate, and renowned singer/songwriter Dar Williams

Since releasing her debut album “the Honesty Room” in 1994, Dar has grown to be one of the most captivating and respected voices in folk music, sharing the bills with the likes of Joan Baez, Ani DiFranco, Patty Griffith, and more.

In this conversation, we discuss the importance of revitalizing small towns, the writing process, moral obligation in art and social commentary, approaching musicians with fawn-like trepidation, and so much more.

Dar’s 2025 begins on January 9th at the Center for the Arts in Lake Placid, NY and wraps in Richmond, VA on March 9th.

The tour includes a stop at our sponsor, Spruce Peak Arts, in Stowe, VT on January 10th.

Her acclaimed writing retreat “How to Write A Song That Matters” returns to Chester, CT for weekends in July and August of this year.
