The well received festival film, THE BEACH HOUSE, was acquired by Shudder as the distributor of the movie.  July 9th, 2020 was the debut of the movie on the station.  Like most films like this, the channel promoted it non-stop.  Unlike many small independent features, THE BEACH HOUSE had already garnered over ninety reviews on the Rotton Tomatoes website, with many giving praise.

A young college couple, Emily (Liana Liberato) and Randall (Noah Le Gros), head to Randall’s father’s beach house on Cape Code for a late spring vacation.  Being off season, the beaches are mostly empty.  When they unexpectedly meet an older couple friendly with Randall’s parents, the four enjoy an evening of drink and conversation.  However, a bizarre event happens that may change all their lives.

This is the first feature length film by director/screenwriter Jeffrey Brown.  Though starring mostly unknowns, Jake Weber (MEDIUM and DAWN OF THE DEAD (2004)) also stars giving the movie some name recognition.  Dark Discussions takes a look at this very surprising film that goes to some unexpected places.
