Publisher's Summary:
A dark and stormy knight.... No really. It was storming... and rather dark in the Tower of London. An unexpected trip to London was supposed to be the perfect distraction from Anna's stress-filled life. Minding her own business, drooling over so many jewels, Anna Waters winds up hopelessly lost and finds herself locked in the infamous tower.
Who knew an antique locket would lead her to a knight with a heart buried underneath 30 feet of stone?
Searching for a way out, she stumbles over an antique locket with half the picture missing. Lightning strikes, and when Anna wakes, she's still in the tower... 700 years in the past.
She crossed an ocean of time for him. Can she save them both before it's too late?
John Thornton almost lost his head and saw his family ruined all because of a woman. Presumed dead, he became the infamous bandit of the wood. Captured and awaiting execution in the Tower of London, a strange woman appears out of the darkness. As they flee across England, John finds himself chipping away at the stone surrounding his heart and longing for a life with his mysterious rescuer - no matter the cost.

I love time travel stories and the reviews were pretty good ...
I love time travel stories and the reviews were pretty good for this author so I thought I would give this bundle a try. I enjoyed the stories very much. Ms. Luhrs is a good story teller. There were some typos and grammar errors but that is bad editing. Her writing style is enough detail to allow you to set the scene in your mind and then the story goes on. No many long drawn out situations that take more than a few pages to cover. Nothing wrong with that and it does make the flow of the story move at a quick pace. While I have other authors I feel are more creative writers I did adjust to her style quickly and look forward to reading more of her books. I didn't go into story details as others cover that pretty well but I hope this was helpful. I am not the best at writing reviews and horrible at story telling. I leave that to others who do it much better!
Great story
A great adventure which leads to a big climax, really enjoyed the characters and of course the world of medieval England always comes to life with her stories . A real disappointment was to end it sort of abruptly after John and Anna finally get the chance to beat the odds. (don't want to spoil the plot here) I felt it just dropped off and I didn't get invited to the wedding !
Started off great
I loved the synopsis, and couldn't wait to dive in. I love how the story started out and truly loved every minute of it for awhile. However, after awhile the story felt disjointed. I felt like I was missing pieces to the story, and I never felt a connection in the romance department. The author never let's the reader fully experience the couple together in flirty or romantic ways. Heck, at one point he had no idea she was missing for a full week from his castle. Anyway- the reader only sees the couple in dangerous moments, a few moments with his siblings, and then lots of time jumps.
Superior Read
Cynthia Luhrs is AMAZING! Have read her "Merriweather" series several times. Reading any good book once is never enough. The first
time one reads through to get the "what happens next" ideas.
