Jim was just a teenager when he was initiated into a satanic cult.  The darkness of the occult gripped his soul for the next twenty years.  Then, in 1984, I went to London for a 15-week campaign, culminating in evangelistic rallies at a large stadium. 

A young woman named Veronica had been praying for Jim, and she invited him to attend.  Jim agreed, but his plan was to disrupt the meeting.  Instead, he came face to face with Jesus Christ.  He didn’t know what to do.  He was afraid that Satan would kill him if he turned to Christ.  But Jim couldn’t stay away, and he returned to the stadium another night. 

Veronica was praying that I would speak on a subject particularly relevant to Jim’s life.  When Jim and Veronica walked into the stadium that evening they were handed a leaflet announcing that my topic for the evening was “Jesus Christ vs. the Occult.” God had a special message for Jim that night, and when I gave the invitation, he was the first one down on the field to give his life to Christ.

 Jesus said, “I am the light of the world; whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12) God brings His light into the darkness of people’s lives, so don’t be hesitant to share His Good News cheerfully, even with those who are deep in the occult.
