Jazz pianist, composer, educator, modular synthesist and session musician Darren Pickering and his Small Worlds have just release a new album, Three, on Rattle Records.

Marty Duda spoke to Darren, who was home in Christchurch where is is also a full-time tenured lecturer at Ara Music. Darren shared his valuable time to talk about the “vibrant” Christchurch jazz scene, how Three was made and how Spike Lee got him into jazz.
