I spoke with Francois, an external lecturer at Vanderbilt University and Chief of Staff to the CFO at Nissan Americas, about the challenges and opportunities of integrating AI across the automotive industry. We discussed how legacy OEMs are tackling change management, restructuring organisations, and adopting AI tools. Francois shared insights on building GenAI use cases by empowering teams to identify problems, rather than relying on a top-down approach, and highlighted key use cases across the automotive value chain. We also explored his work beyond automotive, where he applies data science to business problems, and examined the risks and benefits of partnerships with tech giants as OEMs look to scale their AI capabilities in a competitive landscape.
