Wing CHEUNG is the CEO of Bee Information Technology PH, Inc. in the Philippines - the first Tier 4 Data Centre built in country;

He also is the CEO of BodaData, one of China's largest privately held DC Operators.

I interviewed him after his panel with James Benjamin, Daryl and Daniel, discussing "Eastern Dragons" the industrial powerhouses of North East Asia - Japan, Korea and China.Wing represented China in the discussion and provided some fascinating insight into the challenges there at the moment - but the overall tailwinds for the future in the world's second largest economy.

Apologies for the delay in bringing you last weeks' news but Rhys Morgan and I were travelling back from the W Media event in Bangkok. To make it up to you we had a special guest in the form of Jonathan Atkin!

This week the three of us discuss:

1) Nxtra by Airtel's plans to develop a 200MW facility in Hyderabad.

2) ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (India) plans and developments in Jaipur and Mumbai.

3) Telekom Malaysia increasing their footprint by 20MW across two sites in Malaysia.

4) Empyrion Digital announcing a new 12MW site in Bangkok. 5) Amazon Web Services (AWS) no longer looking to develop a 40MW site in Sydney.

6) Microsoft opening a second site in Busan, Korea.

While at the recent W Media event in Thailand, Rhys Morgan and I found the time to discuss the Thailand data centre market with Nxera executive and industry stalwart Kavin Wong.

In this session with Kavin we discuss:

1) The Thai and South East Asian landscape.

2) How the Thai market has evolved since Kavin's first involvement.

3) The similarities and differences between various markets across South East Asia.

4) Nxera's plans regionally and the latest developments in Batam.Nxera have been spun out of Singtel to develop data centres across the APAC region and currently have capacity / projects under development in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.
