In the second of the Data Protection Teabreak podcasts, Data Protection Commissioner Emma Martins and Chief Operating Officer Tim Loveridge discuss the ways in which the ODPA plans to engage with the community and hopefully reduce data breaches.

The ODPA held its first open public consultation session on 10 April 2019 to find out what a selection of people from the local community thought it should offer as part of its events and communications programme.

Tim and Emma discuss how prediction and prevention are key to ensuring data protection laws are followed willingly with detection of breaches and enforcement as the next steps and talk about their future events programme.

Anyone who wishes to take part in the public consultation can visit www.odpa.gg/events-consultation to review the proposed events programme and send their feedback by 10 May 2019.
