Kris Hovel - dj, promoter, club owner and one of Latvia's hottest exports – exploding onto the scene in 2002 with his energetic dj sets - a mix of House, Techno and Minimal sounds - he has never looked back, and to this date taking his biggest influence from London, where he first discovered electronic music and where he lived/played for more than 6 years. Impressed by the sound and mood of the London scene, this would be the catalyst for what was to come..

Since 2007 he has been running two promotions with events taking place in Riga, Vilnus (Lithuania) and London. Danscotheek the first to invite headliners Format:B to Latvia, also Daniel Steinberg aka Harry Axt, Heinrich and Hirtenfellner, Death On The Balcony and many more. And Pencilhaus, a smaller more intimate affair has seen guest appearances from the likes of Pezzner, Jullieta, Sweet N Candy.

In 2013 Kris upped his game becoming co-owner, promoter and resident dj at one of the Baltics trendiest cultural venue -9k1. The club has just celebrated its first anniversary and is already making waves around Europe for its unique taste and diversity in underground dance music.
