When a group of Danish high school students from Kolding Gymnasium travels to Uganda, they expect to learn about global development and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. What they find is something far more profound. Helping Hands Secondary School — a girls' school hit hard by the pandemic — is just two weeks away from reopening, but nothing is ready. No proper classrooms. No security for the girls. No money.

In this documentary podcast, students Petra and Christianna share their journey: the stories of the Ugandan girls they met, the resilience of a community fighting to reclaim education, and how lending a hand opened their eyes to their own privilege — and the power of solidarity.

This is a story about girls who refuse to give up on learning. It’s about what it means to show up for each other across continents. And it’s about why quality education for all (SDG 4) still matters — now more than ever.
