On St. Patrick’s Day 2001, Dublin had to delay its parade on account of an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease. Luckily the Senior Wildcats of the Norwich Free Academy were safely an ocean away wearing not only green, but plenty of red and white. Among them was the great Dave (Wei Li) Fan.
He now Zooms with us from San Francisco, California. How did a Norwich kid turned Boston University student end up out there? You’ll have to listen to find out. And then explain it to us, because biomedical engineering was involved so we don’t understand. Dave is now a fancy Mr. Manager at some fancy something-or-other. He oversees Gen Z employees, prompting a conversation about how we Millennials are basically the best generation. Now married with a son, Dave is a success by any metric. He thinks back to what about NFA set him on this trajectory, while Zack reflects on how he and Dave were proud “Alpha Males.” Ian also has some trivia about Lake Tahoe, which wasn’t easy because he sounds like he’s dying.
It’s a wide-ranging RWS episode with yet another impressive Wildcat. His name is Dave Fan, and he’s a member of the NFA Class of 2001.
