1 Samuel 18:1-5, 1 Samuel 20:24-42, John 15:12-17
What does it mean to be a true friend? The book of Proverbs has much to say about what makes up true friendship, but the strongest example in the Bible is found in the friendship of David and Jonathan. Jonathan was the son of Saul and rightful heir of the throne of Israel. However, David had been anointed the next king by the command of the Lord. This should have made them mortal enemies. Instead, they became the truest of friends. We will explore what made their friendship so strong and see how this relates to our truest friendship--with Christ.
