David Benedict and Diana Lancaster with Mercury: A Broadcast of Hope

Listen Later

Podcasters Row welcomes David Benedict and Diana Lancaster, hosts of Mercury: A Broadcast of Hope, a podcast produced by the non-profit Atlanta Radio Theatre Company.

Mercury: A Broadcast of Hope is a daily audio drama podcast that tells the story of a group of people living in or around a college radio station broadcasting during the zombie apocalypse. Rather than focusing on the usual themes of the zombie genre, which tend towards violence and a bleak, depressing world, we turn our attention to helping our listeners find hope and a way to get through each day. We like to say it's about living your best life under the worst circumstances.

David Benedict is the current Vice President and Executive Producer for Atlanta Radio Theatre Company. He joined the group in 1994 and has performed in countless live performances, produced and edited a number of studio works, and is the creator and primary writer for the daily audio drama Mercury: A Broadcast of Hope.

Diana Lancaster is a huge fan of the creative arts scene in Atlanta, drawing inspiration from events like Write Club and Naked City. Mercury: A Broadcast of Hope is her first major audio drama project. Diana holds a Masters in oceanography and is a real-life scientist, teaching Biology labs at Agnes Scott College.
