Starting in July 1976, New York City was gripped in fear because someone was shooting random people. This shooter was known as the .44 Caliber Killer but was most well known as the Son of Sam. After the eight different shootings, David Berkowitz was identified as a viable suspect. Once he was in police custody he confessed to the crimes and told them his reason for doing them.
