In which we accompany my old friend Traddles and myself on a rather singular visit to the inner sanctum of a reformatory institution, where I am shown how penitence and repentance are professed under the strictest regime. Amidst this solemn theatre of sorrow, we encounter characters whose humble demeanours and quaint confessions invite both suspicion and contemplation, leaving us to ponder the curious interplay of truth and pretence within those stone walls.
