My first exposure to coding was several years ago through Visual Basic; I took it upon myself to add features in a template my Department presents to audited businesses. The template is still used daily and has saved the Department of Revenue time and money. The added features allowed auditors to create the lengthy document much quicker, and I realized creating this type of efficiency, along with the long-term cost and time savings, is what I enjoy the most. Development gives me the ability to benefit a lot of people by solving problems and creating long lasting solutions efficiently.
