Just after getting married Canadian David Whitla moved to Ireland to join the RTÉ National Concert Symphony Orchestra. 3 years later a job opportunity for a double bass tutor in Cork arrived and 20 years later David hasn't looked back. Coming up in the next few months Cork Orchestral Society will be streaming online gigs. The first gig is this Saturday with '13 strings' with David being a member. The instruments which are part of 13 strings include: Double Bass, Violins, Violas and Cellos. Other gigs streamed also include: Solo Piano recitals, Wind quintet,a Piano Trio and a Trio of sopranos.
