In the Summer of 2021, the University of St. Thomas Athletic Department named David Wood as the new Head Baseball Coach. Wood will lead the Celts into their second full season since being reintroduced in 2020 after a 51-year hiatus

Wood, who was the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at St. Edward's University for 10 years, provides a wealth of knowledge and experience for the UST Baseball program. While at St. Edward's, he played an integral role in the Hilltoppers' success, which featured six Heartland Conference Championships, One South-Central Regional Championship, Seven NCAA Regional appearances, and a third place finish in the 2013 NCAA DII World Series.
