Better before the sex started
The story is about Liv, a virgin & sexual novice, seducing David, a recently retired, injured marine who is 16 years her senior. Unlike other stories of the same ilk, Livs thinking seemed a bit more mature and not only about sex. And words of love werent tossed around quickly and easily, though their HEA was speedy.
I liked that David & Liv werent perfect physical specimens of humanity, and I liked that the story dealt with how Livs dad would likely react to his close friend being with his daughter. The setup of the story was also plausible, and sex wasnt so easy or immediately. Liv had to work at seducing David, and David wasnt led totally by his penis nor did he ignore what others, especially Livs dad, would think.
The one downside is that the author was less capable at writing a sexy and erotic description of the sex act, once it occurred. On the otherhand, the author did a great job of writing sexy material when describing the sexual desire of Liv and David, before they actually had sex together. Talking about Livs cervix and ripe eggs and Davids corona during sex or as part of the description was a bit too technical & detracted from any sexiness.
The story has an epilogue at 7 months later, so it was great to hear what happened after the sex.
