TODAY’S SCRIPTURE | 2 Samuel 6:1-16  
David resolves to bring the ark of God’s presence home to Jerusalem with much fanfare, only to be derailed by a shocking loss, anger, and fear. David learns that bringing God into your life is as much God bringing you into his life: God comes on his terms. The story begins and ends with joyful worship, with hard lessons learned in the middle. In Advent, God comes in a new ark and on terms accessible to all: a newborn baby, vulnerable, and surrounded by joyful worship.
