On September 21, 2013, at approximately 7:35 p.m. police officers in Newark New Jersey responded to a disturbance at the corner of Salem Street and South Orange Avenue. When they arrived officers found 21 year old Najee Montague lying on the ground outside of a bodega. He had been shot seven times. Dawan Ingram was identified by a witness as the shooter, he was convicted and sentenced to 50 years in the New Jersey department of corrections, this is Dewan's story told in his own words.
