The guys from Dawgman.com - Chris Fetters and Scott Eklund - got together to put a bow on Washington's June recruiting efforts and offer some best guesses on if the Huskies are going to get any commitments in the next few weeks heading into fall camp.
To start, they recapped the last recruiting visit weekend where UW hosted 7 recruits - Kodi Greene, Davon Benjamin, Ansu Sanoe, Pulelei'ite Primus, Ksani Jiles, Elijah Durr, and Rahsjon Duncan. Only three - Benjamin, Primus, and Duncan - are currently uncommitted while the rest are committed to UW.
How did the weekend go in terms of gaining any new commitments?
Chris used 247Sports' Recruiting Class Calculator to project out a potential scenario given the current uncommitted recruits that have taken official visits to UW. That list, as it currently stands, would put the Huskies at 23 verbal commitments. Is that scenario a reasonable one? And could the Huskies get some players that took official visits to Montlake but committed to other schools to flip their commitments toward UW?
The guys also talked about how well the coaches have done so far in addressing position needs.
To finish out the 55-minute recruiting podcast, Scott offers his best guess as to whether or not UW will earn any commitments during the month of July, typically the last month to make decisions for prospects who want to make their decisions public before their senior seasons start. And will they all be currently uncommitted players? Or will the coaches be able to entice a prospect or two to change their commitments in favor of the Huskies?
