The Department of Energy says the retail price of petrol in South Africa will rise by 3.5 percent from October 5, while the price of wholesale diesel will go up by 2.2 percent. The price of 93 octane petrol will rise by 44 cents to 12.34 and 95 octane by 43 cents to 12.60 rand per litre in Gauteng. Diesel will go up by 23 cents to 10.72 rand per litre.
