Sometimes, we don’t see the reality of things around us. We just want them, we desire them. The fact of the matter is that we are so blinded emotionally that we can’t see the true colors of the people or the things that we think they’re the best for us. Let me put it to you this way, when the baby sees how the flame of a candle is sparkling and bright, then tries to come closer and closer and touch it. After feeling the heat of that flame and how painful it is, the same baby that had that urging desire learns one of the most valuable lessons in life which is not everything looks beautiful externally, has to be the same internally. I heard once someone say “Nothing forces us to know what we don’t want to know except pain”.
