On Day 11 we ask the Muslims be driven to the Gospel in search of the assurance of forgiveness.
Transcript:
Day 11, Today starts the second set of ten days of Ramadan in which Muslims focus on the forgiveness of Allah. During this time Muslims are encouraged to reflect on their mistakes, resolve to be better, and ask for forgiveness not just from God, but also from the people they may have wronged. There is no certainty of forgiveness in Islam, only hope that God will be merciful and this hope is often accompanied by good deeds and an increase is acts of charity and disciplines like prayer and fasting in hopes of tipping the scale.
Heavenly Father, we rejoice in your mercy and kindness and thank you that we do not have to tip the scales in our favor because you have tipped them for us in atoning sacrifice of your son Jesus. Lord, we ask today that you would use the uncertainty of merit based forgiveness to drive desperate hearts to look for the assurance of forgiveness that only you provide. Come Lord Jesus Come. In your name we pray. Amen
.
Today, consider meditating on: Luke 23:32-43
