When Joshua was old, he gathered the leaders of Israel and reminded them of the great things God had done for and through them. He told them his remaining time on the earth was short. He commanded them to obey God’s commands and to honor their covenant with God, or God would punish them and remove them from the land He gave them. Joshua gathered the tribes of Israel at Shechem and reminded the leaders of Israel of God’s work from the time of Abraham to that present day. Joshua challenged them to choose to follow God alone and not turn to any other god. Israel committed to serve God alone. Joshua died at the age of 110.
