1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Reflection

God has chosen us, not to keep the good news to ourselves, but to declare it. We were rescued from darkness and brought into His marvelous light so that others might see what God is like. Remembering where God found us fills our hearts with wonder and our mouths with praise.

Application

Today, thank God for rescuing you. Let gratitude fuel your willingness to speak. Ask God for an opportunity to share the good news with someone around you, and pray that He would give them faith to believe. Lift up our neighbors and coworkers, our children and college students, trusting God to bring many from darkness into light.
