In the opening of 1 Samuel 1 through 3 we are introduced to the family and birth of Samuel, a man who would be dedicated to the Lord at a very young age, who was called by the Lord at a time of prophetic quietness, and would go on to be Israel's final judge and first official prophet, later helping to establish the Israel into a kingdom.
