60 Second Prayers for Muslims during Ramadan

Day 14 - Sweeter than Honey

Listen Later

Transcript:

Day 14, A tradition of the Iftar, the meal after sunset, is to begin by eating a few dates which gives instant energy and digestive support for the meal. This tradition originates with Muhammad himself and interestingly He also drew a link to Mary the mother of Jesus, relating how an angel advised her to eat dates when she was in labor. A sign of God’s generous mercy.

Let’s pray that Muslims be nourished by the true spiritual food that is found in Christ.

Father, we agree with the psalmist who writes in Psalm 119 “How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth” We know that your Word, your Truth is life-giving and delights are hearts. We ask Father that you would give Muslims a taste of your Truth and nourish their souls with the true spiritual food that is found only in Christ. We ask specifically today that you would reveal yourself in dreams and visions and glorify your name. In Jesus' name we pray - Amen.

Today Meditate on: John 6:55.

If you know a Muslim ask them: Please tell me about Iftar and how your family usually observes the first meal after sunset.
