Many years before Jesus was born, people called prophets would bring God's message to the people of Israel. The prophets reminded the people of what God wanted them to do. God wanted them to understand who He was and trust Him in the way they lived their lives. The prophets told the people to worship the one true God, and foretold of the promised Messiah.
