Read Today's Assigned Passages
Guiding Scripture: John 21:9-10 'When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread. Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish you have just caught." '
š“What's in the Water?
written by: Torrie Slaughter
n today's passages, we read about King David crossing the Jordan river and Jesus' disciples returning to their profession of fishermen.
What an exciting parallel?!?
When Christ said in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid." I see these events as a contrasting manifestation of what it is like to bear the burden of our sinful nature.
In 2 Samuel 19-20, King David continues to struggle among the tribes because of the divided loyalty. He is returning to his throne after the death of Absalom. We also read that Ziba slandered Mephibosheth taking advantage of an opportunity to receive more provisions for his large family.
