Jacob sets out for Egypt with his entire family. On the journey, God speaks to him, and Jacob arrives in Egypt where he is reunited with Joseph. The family settles in the land of Goshen, and Joseph presents some of his brothers and his father to Pharaoh. Pharaoh welcomes them and grants them land.

As the famine continues, Joseph manages Egypt’s resources. The people trade their money, livestock, land, and eventually themselves in exchange for food. Joseph establishes a system where the land belongs to Pharaoh, and the people work it, giving a portion of the harvest. Jacob lives in Egypt for many years, blesses Pharaoh, and the family grows and settles in the land.
