Carl Self is first and foremost a proud father to Jordan and Alexis, but he is also a Senior Mortgage Originator licensed in the state of Washington since 1989. He started out part-time while working as an insurance agent for Pacific Cliffs Financial, and soon learned that he’s truly passionate about helping people to purchase a home.

Having fallen in love with the mortgage industry quite quickly, Carl spent time reading and obtaining all of the information available to better serve his clients and the people who respected and trusted him to help with their home mortgage and real estate needs. The old axiom that knowledge is power proved true, and over the last 20+ years, Carl has taken pride in always being ahead of the curve regarding industry changes, available loan programs, and how best to use what he has learned to get clients approved for the right mortgage loans to meet their needs. Carl is a constant student, seeking to learn all he can . . . and there is always more to know.

Carl has also taken every opportunity to plug into the technology side of the industry, since that has been the direction of all modern things. He is grateful to possess a considerable technological savvy, as it has served him well and made him a stronger asset to his clients and partners.

Carl’s extensive business plan for the future instills in him a focus on people first, last, and always – he finds that’s an element sometimes missing in the client-lender relationship. Carl has a powerful vision he is pursuing for the future that includes giving back to his local community and helping others as often as he can. Within his business, the main goal is to serve the needs of his clients in their journey toward homeownership. Beyond the business, Carl’s goal is to serve the needs of those in his local community whose needs are greatest. This includes projects such as the Back to School Backpack and School Supplies Drive, with a goal to provide 1,000 backpacks with complete school supplies to one of the poorest areas in Snohomish County. It also includes an annual Christmas Toy and Clothing Drive for the Salvation Army and Goodwill, donating to families less fortunate during the holiday season. Carl also has a strong desire to see those around him succeed and find their passion. He focuses this into a local Mastermind for Success group, meeting monthly to share ideas that work and to brainstorm new ideas to achieve happiness, comfort and success.
