David prepared a place for the ark of the Lord and instructed the Levites to carry the ark as commanded by the Lord. David gathered all Israel to bring the ark of the Lord. David assigned musicians and singers to rejoice as the ark was taken to Jerusalem. Michal, David’s wife, saw him dancing and rejoicing and despised him in her heart. The ark was put in its place and sacrifices were offered to God. David sang a song of thanksgiving to the Lord. He recognized the Lord’s promises and the fulfillment of those promises through His people. The commands of God concerning sacrifices were honored by the priests and Levites according to David’s orders.
