Satan tempted David through his pride to count the people of Israel. As punishment for David’s disobedience, God sent a pestilence against Israel. He sent an angel to destroy Jerusalem. David pleaded with God to spare His people. David built an altar and sacrificed burnt offerings. God spared Jerusalem and the people of Israel. David prepared workers and materials for the building of the temple. He charged his son Solomon to build a house for the Lord. David also charged Solomon to be obedient to the Lord.
