Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign. He reigned for thirty-one years and did right in the eyes of the Lord. He destroyed the altars and images to other gods. He restored the house of the Lord, and the Book of the Law was found. The Lord showed Josiah mercy because he honored Him. Josiah kept the Passover faithfully. Josiah fought against the Egyptians, was injured, and died. Judah mourned his death, and Jeremiah lamented him.
