The children of Israel are once again declared forever spared in Jeremiah 4 and 5, as the Lord will punish them for their disobedience but will never cut them off from Him entirely. He compares them to a marriage that's ruined by sinful prostitution, for God only desires the love of His people as the heavenly bridegroom.
