I remember the feeling all too well—loneliness, depression, anxiety, discontentment, rejection, anger, fear. I was brokenhearted and distraught. Burnt out and confused. At the end of my rope. I felt like a complete failure. My earthly father had abandoned me, I was sexually abused during my entire adolescence, been neglected and betrayed by family and friends, my marriage was in the pits, my personal business wasn't going well, I was having an extramarital affair, my children were struggling in school, and I was desperate for relief from the pains of life.
