Day 235 – Aftermath and Misplaced Fear — Jeremiah 40–42 | Bible In A Year (CSB)

Listen Later

After Jerusalem’s fall, the remnant wrestles with what to do next. Though God offers them safety if they remain in the land, fear drives them to consider Egypt. These chapters highlight the tension between trusting God’s promises and seeking security in human plans.

Questions:

1. Why do you think the remnant found it easier to trust in Egypt’s power than in God’s promises?

2. How do these chapters show the danger of seeking God’s guidance with no real intention of obeying it?

3. What does this passage teach us about true security—where it comes from and how it can be lost?
